Tobias Rahim

Tobias Rahim, born in 1989 in Aarhus, Denmark, to a Kurdish freedom fighter father from North Kurdistan and a Danish mother, is a Danish singer and musician whose multicultural background deeply informs his eclectic musical style. After spending formative years living in Ghana and two years in a slum in Cali, Colombia, he began his music career as part of a duo in 2015 before going solo. He released music under the name Toby Tabu during a stint in Ghana in 2017 before adopting his current stage name. His 2020 album National Romantik brought mainstream success with the platinum-certified single "Jesus," and his 2023 album Nar sjaelen kaster op became the most streamed album in Denmark that year according to Spotify. Rahim's music defies easy categorization, blending Latin rhythms, Afrobeat influences, and Danish pop sensibility into a genre-crossing sound that has made him one of Denmark's biggest contemporary artists.
