The Chains is a Copenhagen-based ska and reggae supergroup formed when members spanning three generations of Copenhagen ska and early reggae connoisseurs came together to pay tribute to Terry Hall, the charismatic lead singer of The Specials, who died in December 2022. After a sold-out tribute concert at Loppen in February 2023, the band went into the studio and quickly produced a series of demos, resulting in a full album just four months later. Their debut album "Crying On The Dancefloor" was released in September 2024 to several "best of 2024" top 5 placements on blogs, radios, and zines. The music exemplifies hard-hitting Boss Reggae and tight, snappy Two Tone Ska, with the band also tipping their hats to punk rock roots through their ska version of Rancid's classic "Poison."
