Nikolaj Norlund is a Danish musician, singer-songwriter, and producer born in 1965 in Frederiksberg. He made his solo debut in 1996 with "Navnlos," an album featuring interpretations of poems by Michael Strunge, earning a nomination for Album of the Year at the Danish Music Awards in 1997. He won a Danish Music Award as Producer of the Year in 2003 and a Steppeulv (Danish music critics' award) as Producer of the Year in 2006. In 2012, he received Niels Matthiasens cultural award "Kultur-Niels." With more than 20 albums and EPs released both solo and in collaborations, Norlund has continuously challenged and expanded the boundaries of Danish songwriting. He owns the record label Auditorium and works as a producer for other artists. Notable collaborative projects include "Skamskudte fugle" with the Copenhagen Philharmonic (2017). He remains active, with recent releases including the "Balancen" EP (2024). His music blends electrorock, indie, and art-pop sensibilities.
