Cat Clyde is a Canadian songwriter and musician from Stratford, Ontario, who taught herself guitar at age 14 and went on to graduate from a music industry arts program in 2015. Her sound draws deeply from the roots of blues and folk, with influences ranging from Robert Johnson and Lead Belly to Patsy Cline, Karen Dalton, and Etta James, resulting in a distinctive blend of soulful blues and sweet, folk-tinged songwriting. Her debut album "Ivory Castanets" was released in 2017 and featured the single "Mama Said," which has garnered over 9 million Spotify streams. Her second album "Hunter's Trance" followed in 2019, and her later release "Down Rounder" was recorded at the famed Sound City studios in Los Angeles with producer Tony Berg. Cat Clyde has established herself as one of Canada's most compelling voices in contemporary folk and Americana music.
