The week kicks off with Lebanese singer Yasmine Hamdan at Amager Bio on Monday. Hamdan's voice has graced everything from indie film soundtracks to experimental Arabic pop, and her live performances are known for their hypnotic intensity. It's a rare chance to catch an artist who operates in a space entirely her own.
Tuesday brings Malu Pierini to Lille VEGA, where the Danish-Corsican artist will showcase her blend of Nordic soul and French chanson. With a voice that moves effortlessly between intimate and grand, Pierini has carved out a musical universe that honors both her classical training and her Mediterranean roots.
Wednesday is stacked. Over at Store VEGA, Grammy-nominated guitarist Madison Cunningham brings her jazz-inflected folk-rock — think West Coast warmth meets virtuosic guitar work and classical sensibilities. Meanwhile, EVIGBY plays Rust, and Argentine cumbia villera legends Los Pibes Chorros en Copenhague take over Pumpehuset for what promises to be a raucous night.
Thursday offers serious variety. Danish-Brazilian artist Dos Santos headlines Store VEGA with his dancefloor-ready fusion of R&B, hip-hop, and electronic beats — a sound shaped by growing up between two continents. For something more experimental, Danish producer Mike Sheridan performs at Ideal Bar, bringing his intuitive approach to electronic music and sound art. Jazz fans should head to Alawari at Stengade, while In Inkra also plays Rust. And if you're into power metal with theatrical flair, German band Powerwolf brings their wolf-themed heavy metal spectacle to K.B. Hallen.
Friday features Mona Moroni at DR Koncerthuset, while Søren Skov Orbit takes the stage at Stengade for an evening of jazz exploration.
Saturday is the busiest night of the week. At Lille VEGA, American country artist Willow Avalon delivers her rock-edged take on classic country and Americana. Canadian singer-songwriter Leif Vollebekk performs at DR Koncerthuset (where Mona Moroni also has a second show), while Toronto indie-rock outfit The Beaches headline Store VEGA. For jazz, Danish trio Plum and I play Ideal Bar with their alternative modern approach. Electronic fans can catch John Cxnnor at Pumpehuset or Cheap Jeep at BETA Copenhagen. At Stengade, ambient black metal project Xasthur offers something darker, while THEY ARE GUTTING A BODY OF WATER perform at Loppen.
The week closes Sunday with Icelandic-Chinese sensation Laufey at Royal Arena — her modern jazz sound has captivated millions, and this arena show is the week's biggest ticket. For something more intimate, folk-pop trio Trousdale bring their gorgeous harmonies to Ideal Bar.
