Ólöf Arnalds

Ólöf Arnalds (born 1980) is an Icelandic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose voice has been called "otherworldly" by The New York Times, "bewitching" by Rolling Stone, and "impossibly lovely" by Paste. Fluent on violin, viola, cello, guitar, and numerous other stringed instruments, she was a touring member of múm for five years before launching her acclaimed solo career. Her debut album "Við og Við" (2007) earned Björk's patronage and high-profile praise in the US, leading to tours with Blonde Redhead, Jonathan Richman, and Jeff Mangum. Across five solo albums released on labels including One Little Independent and Bella Union, Ólöf Arnalds has established herself as one of Iceland's most treasured musical voices, creating folk-rooted songs of haunting, luminous beauty.
