Nate Mercereau is a Grammy-winning American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and composer from Poway, California. He studied music at San Francisco State University and landed his first major gig as touring guitarist for Sheila E., traveling worldwide for four years before pivoting to studio session work in Los Angeles. As a songwriter, he co-wrote two chart singles for Shawn Mendes including the Top 5 hit "If I Can't Have You," co-produced five songs on Leon Bridges' album "Good Thing," and wrote for Lizzo's "Cuz I Love You." As a performing musician, Mercereau played on several tracks on Jay-Z's acclaimed 2017 album "4:44" and has toured with Rhye, Banks, and Jennifer Hudson. His solo work showcases his experimental side through albums like "Joy Techniques" (2019) and "Excellent Traveler" (2024, Third Man Records). Most notably, he is a core member of Andre 3000's ensemble on the Grammy-nominated album "New Blue Sun" (2023) and has been touring with Andre 3000 performing that material live.
