MÍO is a Norwegian folk rock band founded in Oslo by vocalist Dionisia Fjelldalen and bassist Marianne Friisberg Larssen, who met while studying music and bonded over their love for rock and folk. With roots in Oslo's punk and rock scene, the six-piece ensemble has created a unique sound they call "Folk 'n' Roll," blending Norwegian rock, punk, and folk traditions with hardanger fiddle and folk instruments from around the world. The band released their debut album "Ingen tid å miste" on June 9, 2023, on Lilith Records, followed by the sophomore album "Hva na?" in spring 2025 on By Norse Music, taking their sound into darker, heavier territory reflecting the uncertainty and struggles of our times. The current lineup features Fjelldalen on vocals, Maja Hveding Styffe on fiddle and hardanger fiddle, Hennie Hagen Johnsen on piano and accordion, Jakob Nome on guitar, Larssen on bass, and Eilif Hallingstad Finnseth on drums.
