Love Shop

Love Shop is a Danish pop rock band formed in 1986 by vocalist and songwriter Jens Unmack and guitarist and producer Hilmer Hassig, later joined by harmonicist Henrik Hall. Their debut album 1990 won the Danish Grammy for Pop Album of the Year, and they became known for songs like En nat bliver det sommer, Love Goes On Forever, and Copenhagen Dreaming, with the 1997 album Go! widely considered their magnum opus. The band's journey has been marked by both triumph and tragedy. After announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2004, guitarist Hilmer Hassig was killed in a traffic accident in 2008. The remaining members reunited for tribute concerts in his honour and released the critically acclaimed comeback album Frelsens hær in 2010. Love Shop's distinct blend of indie pop melody and dark, melancholic rock has secured their place as one of the most important bands in Danish music history.
