GRAVA is a Faroese/Danish sludge metal trio based in Copenhagen, formed in 2020. The band creates crushing heavy and atmospheric sludge metal, where abyssal-heavy riffs, pulsating bass, and doomsday drums collide with two raw vocals. Their 2022 debut Weight of a God received significant recognition and appeared on several year-end lists. In 2024 they released The Great White Nothing, an album exploring dark historical narratives — the Franklin Expedition, a Swedish nobleman's execution, a 1897 train disaster, and WWI soldier accounts — all filtered through death's fragmented and intense perspective.
